Scarf Dress

I have a dress that is rather special in my eyes. I originally found it at Wolf Vintage on Lyon st. Before that, it was bought in Japan. It is handmade I think, but the best bit is that the bodice appears to be made from an entire silk scarf cut up, carefully positioned to have a big image of a woman in a hat smack in the middle!
Even better, the skirt has a landscape running across it with deer and trees and bunnies. Between being made of a deliciously light and airy silk, and having a very comfortable cut, to me it is quite a perfect dress!

Summer Thanks.

Recently I've really been missing travelling, Josh too. I know it's probably a bit pathetic after we've been back almost six moths, but wow I had such a good time. In particular, I've been thinking a lot about our time in the South, which I think may be one of my favourite places we visited.

Anyway, to cheer ourselves up a bit, Josh and I planned to cook up a bit of an American feast with some of our favourite Southern treats we got addicted to over there. And when I realised it was Thanksgiving last week, it seemed the perfect reason to make an all out American themed feast. So last weekend our friends came over for a little summertime Thanksgiving!
Roast chicken- not quite sure how to tackle southern fried without a deep fryer. Josh really outdid himself with a delicious sausage stuffing though! (hehe sausage stuffing).
I love corn bread. When we were in the States every time we stopped at Whole Foods I would always get some of their corn bread with my meal- that stuff was good. The best we had though I think was at Jestine's Kitchen in Charleston- served warm with butter and honey! This one we made was unfortunately a bit dry and burnt to the pan.
Mac Cheese! I live with an Italian, it's so funny how far American Mac cheese is from the Italian dish. But I love it!
Sweet pie. I made Siri's Boozie Pompkin Pie, which I've been wanting to make for months since I first saw the recipe, and man was it delicious!

Ginny gin gin. I bought that dress in New York! Just keeping with the American theme.

She -She Sheree

These photos are the work of my talented friend Sheree Porter, who turned a year older today! Unfortunately Sheree is leaving me for the chilly climes of London, which is terrible for me, but great for her. (It seems everyone is in London these days!) If you are in London however and in need of a Fashion photographer, Sheree is your woman!
